It has been confirmed that Zoom, the popular video conferencing platform is not safe to use for official work or tuition class. The Cyber Coordination Centre of India’s ministry of home affairs cast a 16 page PDF advisory, where all the government officers have been advised not to use for official purposes.
This initiative has been urged by Google, Apple, NASA and Tesla, who have warned their employees about using Zoom. It has been recorded that there are more than 200 million users around the world.
This video platform has been downloaded more 450,000 times in a single day of the last two weeks. Many institutions have been started following classes for academic sessions. Corporate users have also used this platform for video conference and also shared numerous documents.
As per the report, there are so many reports about selling software exploits in the dark web by hackers. Also from this platform, many offensive contents have been shared. That is why the Government is now announcing to stop using this software or app.
The chief executive of Zoom, Mr Eric S. Yuan apologized for all the reports of security lapses in recent days. He ensures that this platform is pledging to prioritize focus on users’ privacy and security.
