Previous Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh gave a statement of regret Friday for ‘inadvertently’ harming the assumptions of certain individuals. The conciliatory sentiment came after Singh was affirmed to have made a casteist comment jokingly against leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal during an Instagram Live with India cricketer Rohit Sharma.
In a tweet on Friday, Yuvraj said,” I understand that while I was having a conversation with my friends, I was misunderstood, which was unwarranted. However, as a responsible Indian I want to say that if I have unintentionally hurt anybody’s sentiments of feelings, I would like to express regret for the same.”
Yuvraj’s statement of regret came a day after Haryana Police started a test against him. Hansi-based legal advisor Rajat Kalsan held up a grumbling with the police charging that the 38-year-old previous cricketer had made a casteist comment against Dalits.
