On Tuesday, actor Akshay Kumar started filming for his upcoming film Ram Setu. The actor shared a sneak peek of his character on social media. In the film, he plays an archaeologist, and it will be shot in Ayodhya, at the Ram Mandir, which is still under construction.
Akshay went to Ayodhya with Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha earlier this month to shoot a Mahurat scene for the film, which is directed by Abhishek Sharma and features Chanakya director Chandraprakash Dwivedi as the creative producer.
Akshay also asked for feedback on his long-hairdo and spectacle look from the film as he posted a glimpse of his character on Instagram. “Today is the first day of making one of the most special films in my life. The filming of #RamSetu has begun! In the film, I play an archaeologist. I’d love to hear what you think of the look. It’s still important to me,” he wrote in an Instagram message.
As reported by Mumbai Mirror last year, Ram Setu is a film that will explore the myths and realities surrounding the legends surrounding the ‘ram setu’ (bridge) that connects India and Sri Lanka. In the film, Akshay, who plays an archaeologist, embarks on a journey to uncover new stories and old legends about the building of the bridge, which is thought to have originated in India.
