Around 14000 liquor bottles, whose worth was nearly ₹72 lakhs were crushed by the road roller at the Police Ground.
On July 18th, 270 litres of ID arrack and 14,189 bottles of NDP liquor were destroyed. This happened at the Krishna District, Machilipatnam of Andra Pradesh at the Police Prade Ground. These Non-Duty Paid (NDP) liquors and the Illicitly Distilled (ID) arrack was being imported from the neighboring states since the lockdown.
“Today we are destroying excise property seized in excise cases filed in the range of 10 police stations in the district. This is the property seized in 312 cases in the limits of 10 police stations.” said the SP M Ravindranath Babu, Krishna District.
All the other major police officers were also present. According to the investigation, these bottles and arracks were being imported illegally from a long time.
