India is known for the largest postal service in the world and they are stepping forward to deliver lifesaving medicines around the nation. The Red postal vans are delivering medicines by completing thousands of journeys each day to reach 600,000 villages.
The post office used to serve more than delivering letters and packages. It functions like a bank, pension fund, and primary saving instruments for Indian citizens. The postal service is transporting essential medical equipment and medicines.
Indian Drug Manufacturer’s executive director Ashok Kumar Madan has been stated that they were facing a lot of issues to send the drugs and medicines. The courier companies didn’t responding as they don’t have curfew passes or delivery persons. Alok Ojha, the senior superintendent of postal service in Uttar Pradesh called him asked him that if he could help him to deliver.
Mr Ojha was offering to deliver medicine and drugs on a much wider scale as the postal service has unrestricted access across the country. So now, many of the medical clinics are sending and receiving the required medical equipment and drugs all over the country. It is a very innovative initiative by postal service of India to serve the nation amid pandemic.
