September 2 is celebrated as World Coconut Day where Chefs and nutritionists talk about its health benefits and use. Coconut is one of the most universal gifts of nature. Coconut is not only used in cooking purposes but also it is an important ingredient for skincare all-purpose fruit is all used by artisans to make beautiful artifacts.
Merajuddin Ansari, who is the executive chef said that “there are different recipes which are made out of the coconut. The gravies prepared of Southern parts of the Country are mostly made using Coconut or Coconut milk. It is a key ingredient in Goan cuisine also”.
He further added, “coconut oil is only seven people are taking it for medicinal purposes for short term”. “By using coconut we can make the starters to desert. We can even make appetizers such as coconut poriyal, coconut keema cutlet, coconut galouti. In the main course, there are dishes such as coconut kofta, coconut casserole” says chef Nishikant Choubey.
He added that “Coconut has zero wastage. The water can be fermented and made like kanji, for better shelf life the white part can be granted and frozen in batches”.
