The Arctic Circle is getting warmer day by day. It reaches to 38 degree Celsius in the Siberian town of Verkhoyansk. It is the highest temperature in that region. The records also need to be verified, as the temperatures are 18 degree Celsius higher than normal. The higher temperatures are pushing the world towards the hottest year on the record.
Earlier this June, Russia has declared a state of emergency after the power plant fuel leak in the Arctic region. More than 20,000 tonnes of diesel oil has escaped to the local river Ambarnaya. According to the World Economic Forum, the temperature of Siberia will contribute to may as the warmest globally. It is 0.63 degrees Celsius warmer than the normal temperatures in May since 1981.
Copernicus Climate Change Service stated that in the past month, the most above-average temperatures have been recorded from Siberia, where the temperature was 10 degree Celsius warmer than normal. But this vast change has been detected from the early days for January.
The World is getting warmer; regions like Western Siberia are warming up faster than normal pace, which is alarming. It can be predicted that the rising temperature will melt down the arctic layer and many cities from northern Russia will be submerged.
There is another reason to concern in that particular regions are wildfires. Within June 22, there were several wildfires has happened in the arctic circle of Siberia, which is unusual. Due to the change of climate, the heatwave is raising in the Siberia regions. But this is not the first time, in the year of 2016; the temperature was above than the normal level, which was exceptional.
Most place in Russia is now facing a huge heatwave in recent days. Multiple places are reporting temperatures as high as 113 degrees on June 19. It has been reported as the warmest or hottest winter in Russia. A heatwave starts with a high level of atmospheric pressure from the area.
A downward moving air column compressed the closer air from the ground, hold it still and heating. That high pressure forced the clouds to go away and around that air compressing column, it creates an unobstructed line of light between the ground and the Sun.
As the wind pattern has been changed, there were missing the sea ice; the arctic heatwave is increasing at a rapid pace. So the animal and plant life is now on the stake of threat. It has been started to threaten the local vegetation, ecology human health and also the economy.
