When an itching sensation hits us, we often wonder why we spend a good portion of the year suffering from allergies such as constant sneezing and watery eyes. There can be many reasons, but often people blame it on the pollen season.
According to a thread, which is going viral on Twitter, this is because mostly male trees are planted. Twitter user Antonia shared an interesting thread with the help of research done by horticulturalist Thomas Leo Ogren aka Tom Ogren, who wants to end botanical sexism.
Antonia wrote in her thread that Tom’s wife had severe allergies, so when they bought a house he “wanted to get rid of anything on his property that might trigger an attack.” But when he examined the neighbourhood he noticed something very unusual. Every single tree in the vicinity was male.
