An 8-month-old child loses his life after traveling 400km from Arunachal Pradesh to Meghalaya.
The 8-months old baby boy was asked to take his treatment in the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) instead of the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences in Arunachal Pradesh. The boy arrived at the hospital early in the morning on Monday after traveling all the way to Shillong.
Mr. A L Hek, Meghalaya Health Minister said “On their arrival, the swab samples of the baby were collected and sent for tests. The baby boy tested positive for Covid-19 and later died in the evening.”
Though the test result of the driver as well the parents is negative.
The total active cases in Meghalaya is 44.
This was the second death in Meghalaya due to COVID-19, while first took place in April. On the other hand, 43 have recovered.
