From the past 17 days, India is reporting the highest COVID-19 cases according to the world health organization. Many states have implemented weekend lockdown as death rate has come down 1.89 % said, officials.
in India, some of the cases are increasing day by day states like Karnataka, Punjab Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. The restrictions in Uttar Pradesh announced on 10 July in which the state will close on weekends from Friday 10 a.m. to 5 am Monday. With the increase in COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra government has decided and announced their voluntary public curfew on Saturday and Sunday when only essential services remain functional.
To prevent the COVID-19 Andaman and Nicobar administration has also decided to implement complete lockdown on weekends. As the cases are rapidly increasing in Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amrinder Singh on Aug 20 order several emergency measures which include night curfew will impose because Amrinder Singh had banned the vehicle’s capacity in 5 districts Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Patiala, and Mohali.
The ongoing crisis of COVID-19 Jammu and Kashmir has also announced an indefinite weekend lockdown. According to the officials, the lockdown will be implemented on 5:00 p.m. all Friday and will last a 6 a.m. on Monday. according to a release issued by Tamilnadu, government lockdown has been extended in Tamilnadu till 31st August. On August 2 9 16 23 and 30 that is on all Sundays, there will be a complete lockdown.
The Odisha government also announced a complete shutdown on weekends, where coronavirus disease (Covid-19) positive cases are rising. Odisha chief secretary Asit Tripathy said all services in these 11 districts would remain shut on Saturdays and Sundays in June except for hospitals, nursing homes, medicine stores, and petrol pumps. Of the 11 districts, the state capital Bhubaneswar, Khurda, and coastal districts of Ganjam and Kendrapara account for 75% of the 2,104 Covid-19 positive cases. Cuttack, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, and Bolangir are the other districts, where the weekend shutdown will be enforced.
