Meteorology department has been broadcast that a cyclonic storm is getting stronger in Bay of Bengal and fisherman has been asked to halt their venture to the ocean. From May 17 the storm will reach the coastal area.
The epicentre of the storm has been located in south-southwest of Digha, West Bengal in the span of 1,220km. The regional Met director G K Das stated that the storm will start to get intensify on Sunday evening and will move to north-northwest wards.
On the impact of this storm, the coastal districts of West Bengal will witness a heavy rainfall on May 19-20. The coastal area of Odisha is also under the threat of this cyclonic storm. A fisherman has been warned to venture out there also. The wind will blow in the speed of 45 to 55 km per hour from May 19 afternoons. It can increase the speed up to 90 km from the morning of May 20.
