San Francisco: Top Doctors in the Bay Area state that one of the side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine could be the swollen lymph nodes that a large number of women have reported on experiencing.
This swelling has led to a lot of women to believe that they have breast cancer, leading to false diagnosis by doctors. Dr. Joe of the UCSF reported that, “We are now starting to see patients who are presenting for their screening mammogram and then incidentally they have enlarged lymph nodes and we’ve noticed that these nodes are on the same side where they got vaccinated.”
Swollen lymph nodes are, in fact, an expected side effect. In the clinical trials of the Moderna vaccine, 11.6% of those who received the first dose found themselves with a swollen lymph node whereas 16% experienced the same after the second dose.
These swellings are usually found under the armpits or near the collar bones according to the doctors around the Bay Area.
