HRD ministry had postponed the exam due to the increase in the COVID-19 cases in the country. Earlier the test was supposed to held on July 19 to July 23 2020. The national eligibility and entrance test which is scheduled to hold on September 13 regarding the cancellation and batch of pleas seeking deferment the Supreme Court refused to entertain any of these.
Regarding this, the justice Ashok Bhushan said that authorities will take all necessary steps for conducting NEET the undergraduate Exam amid COVID-19 pandemic for admission in Medical courses.
On September 4, the supreme court had dismissed a review petition by six opposition ruled States against the allowing to conduct of NEET and JEE entrance examination during the pandemic
According to the judges” Application seeking permission to file review petitions are allowed. We have carefully gone through the review petitions and the connected papers. We find no merit in the review petitions and the same are accordingly dismissed”.
Students appearing for the exam has been informed to reach the exam venues one hour before the examination as they have to go through thermal screening at the entrance. It is compulsory for all the students who are appearing for the examination to carry admit card along with identity proof and recent passport size photo while entering the exam hall.
