The State Government put on ban over the spitting of tobacco and paan at public places. As coronavirus spread in such way among the public, so the Department of Health and Family Welfare ordered an issue, where it is mentioned that the chewing and spitting of tobacco products or tobacco made products will be a punishable offence under the section of 188, 268, 269 and 270 of Indian Penal Code.
If any person violates the order, or act nuisance by disobeying the order, then that person can lead himself to the jail custody as well. The state government pointed out that the infection of coronavirus is spreading rapidly, as people didn’t stop chewing the tobacco or spitting it on public places. So, to prevent the outbreak of disease this order has been ordinate by the government.
Not only in Karnataka, in Bihar and Jharkhand, this order also cited. Both of these states ban the habit of tobacco chewing and spitting. It is an offence under the Epidemic Act.
