Helplines have emerged on social media sites, amplifying requests, and coordinating support. They are, on the other hand, exacerbating mental health problems. This country’s people are angry, frightened, heartbroken, and powerless. Personal transparency has been thrown out the window because of poor leadership. All is perplexed and trying to figure out what’s going on. And if a person’s immediate family is immune to the infection (which is uncommon), nearly everyone else has families and personal friends who are fighting for survival.
We hadn’t planned on being here, and yet here we are. No, we don’t need to make a big deal out of it. That’s because the common guy has put on a pair of shoes he wasn’t supposed to wear.
Here’s a key question: Is social media today just for the ‘good’? The response is emphatically no. All has advantages and disadvantages, and the effects of this case may be detrimental to your mental health.
Mental Health and Social Media During the Second Wave
Like other people today, I’ve been doing my best to amplify requests as soon as possible. What keeps you on is the hope that your appeal will affect maybe one person. To tell you the truth, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. However, let’s face it: we’re during a pandemic. Many of us are now plagued with fear to the point that it is interfering in our everyday lives. Most people today are always on edge, overwhelmed, and unable to sleep at night.
Sensitivity is the Key
Furthermore, strive to avoid showing the viewers things that make them feel anxious. It may be extremely triggering for anyone at this stage, weakening them. If you have any doubts about an argument about the virus or the vaccine, DO NOT share it at any cost. On social media, there’s a disinformation crisis brewing, and it doesn’t help if you’re the catalyst of someone’s deteriorating mental wellbeing.
If you’re someone who enjoys assisting others, make an effort to check leads as soon as possible. It would greatly assist people in saving time and ensuring that their needs are met as quickly as possible. No, we’re not doing a social media handbook. All we’re asking is that you keep this a respectful environment, at least throughout these hours.
