A group of gunmen shot and killed six French citizens, a local guide and a driver at Tillaberi region, Niger
The Gunmen who arrived in motorcycles and started firing at the people said the governor of Tillaberi region. The victims were actually in the Koure region which is a tourist spot that attracts tourists to witness the herds of giraffe in West Africa. The death was confirmed by the French presidency. The French nationals were workers of an international aid group, also a French humanitarian NGO, said that their staff members were among those who got killed during the shootout.
Amidst all these kind of troubles tourists still come to Koure to see the Niger giraffes which have settled there around 15 years ago and are protected by the Koure giraffe reserve from the hunters.
The gunmen who conducted this shootout are not yet found and are suspected to be the men of Militant groups like Boko Haram, Al-Qaeda and even the jihadist groups as they are now becoming more active by the day in Niger.
