A meeting headed by the Defense Minister Rajnath Singh recommended that irrespective of the government’s decision on the extension of lockdown, the schools and colleges which can turn out to be hostpots for the virus spread to mostly be closed till May 15.
Many inputs and suggestions were considered on the covid 19 pandemic in the meeting of the Group of Ministers on Tuesday. Several state ministers have also asked for the gradual lifting of lockdown. Rajnath Singh also told that restrictions will continue on a religious activities of the country. The Tablighi Jamaat ,Nizamuddin mosque meet had resulted in more than 1000 plus positive cases of the virus across the country. Even though the county’s economy has fallen down, containing the virus is the top priority for the country.
Earlier, the Union HRD minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal on Sunday had said that the decision on the closure of schools would be taken after the 21 Day Lockdown set to end on April 14. The Minister had also quoted that the govt is prepared to ensure that the academics is not affected due to the lockdown. Online classes have been conducted in many places during the lockdown.
