The Supreme court on Monday ordered all the courts to conduct virtual hearings via video conferencing, taking into the account of Social Distancing during the covid 19 pandemic crisis.The court also framed guidelines for the conferencing under article 142 as decided by a bench headed by Chief Justice S.A. Bobde and comprising Justices D.Y. Chandrachud and L. Nageswara Rao.
“The concerned courts shall maintain a helpline to ensure that any complaint in regard to the quality or audibility of feed shall be communicated during the proceeding or immediately after its conclusion, failing which no grievance in regard to it shall be entertained thereafter,” the Court said.
The court shall also provide facilities for video conferencing for those litigants who do not access to video conferencing. The SC ordered the High courts to have helplines to report the grievances faced during the hearing procedure.
