Saudi Arabia had announced a $265 million deal with a Chinese firm. They are about to ramp up the testing, as the 24-hour curfew has been eased excluding the hotspot locations. The holy city of Islam, Mecca has been marked as the hotspot as well.
China’s Beijing Genome Institute are going to provide nine million COVID-19 test kits to Saudi Arabia. Also, they will send 500 experts, specialists and technicians to conduct the entire proceedings of testing in Saudi.
According to this deal, the company will set six large regional laboratories, with a mobile laboratory with the production capacity of 10,000 daily tests. In an earlier day, the Saudi government has been announced for 9 am-5 pm nationwide curfew, until May 13. But as the number of infection has been increased in the recent day that is why the entire nation has sealed off.
The health ministry has said that the total number of deaths from COVID-19 has risen to 139, with 17,522 active infections. While 2,357 people have been recovered from this infection also.
