Ranveer Singh, a Bollywood star, is pleased with how his music label, IncInk, has evolved in the last two years. The actor, who co-founded the initiative with Navzar Eranee, says he doesn’t want outsiders to go through what he did when he first started out in the industry. “It wasn’t easy getting my foot in the door when I wanted to pursue my dream of being an actor years ago. I was lucky enough to be able to do so.
He goes on to say that the talent he has seen so far has “blown him away.” “Today, I am thankful for having been able to give some amazing new talents a platform; I am blown away by the music that these talented young artistes have made, and I am constantly amazed at their ability to articulate and produce art that is disruptive,” he says.
He wants to improve his label and transform it into a multi-genre collective.
“We do what we do here by being fluid in this endeavour through genre music, film, visual art, and experiences. For writers, ink is a beacon. On the beach, I’d like it to be a lighthouse. It would be satisfying if we could inspire something different, reach out to the unreachable, and touch someone so they feel included “he stated.
“People who work just as hard don’t always get the opportunity, and they may never get it.” My chance was a million to one, but I was willing to take a chance, and I found it. Despite the fact that I was often discouraged, I persisted. I just want to suggest that if you don’t get it or if you crash, get up and keep playing. Always be on the lookout for new ways to play. I want to set an example for others to follow. And that’s what we’re going to do”, he stated.
