The brightest supermoon of the year is said to be visible on the evening of april 7th and early morning of april 8th.This is popularly known as the pink moon as it is the first full moon of the northern spring.
The name comes from phlox subulata a pink flower that blooms in spring in the east of north America. The moon is said to be near the closes point to the earth in its elliptical path.
The Moon will be appearing 30% larger than it looks like , but the color won’t be pink. The supermoon occurs when the moon reaches the Perigee that is the closest point of the orbit of the moon near the earth.
The super-moon will be visible after the sunset of April , and it is said to illuminate in India at around 8 am. This is sadly not good news for the star gazers in India, who would be missing this moment in the night skies. The next super-moon is said to be visible on may 7th.
