On Thursday, the CM of Odisha Naveen Patnaik said that the ongoing 21-day nationwide lockdown will be extended till April 30 in Odisha. Due to uncontrollable spread of Coronavirus. He also added that this decision has not been taken after consulting with the Centre. The reason was that saving lives is way more important than anything else.
The Centre is yet to confirm the extended lockdown as there is no other option of controlling this pandemic. Even the CM of Odisha claimed that the Centre is also ready to agree with the extended lockdown. But they haven’t decided to make it public.
Patnaik further added that he will request the government to extend the lockdown by the same duration in the rest of the country. Since the hold on flight and train services might help in controlling the spread.
