On Tuesday the Jammu Kashmir administration has decided against extending 4G mobile internet facility outside Ganderbal and Udhampur the reason behind this is that citing concerns about misuse by terrorist and their supporters.
Shaleen Kabra who is Principal Secretary in the Home Department, Yesterday said that after a fresh review of the situation it has been decided that internet speed will be restricted to 2G in the rest of the 18 districts. According to the order, it’s said that the law enforcement agencies have given credible input on terror not making sustained efforts to lure young people and indicated potential misuse of high-speed Data Services in disturbing public order.
The agencies have expressed concerns about the misuse of Data Services by terrorist and their supporters. The order said that till the end of September the four g mobile internet services in Ganderbal and udhampur would continue and less modified earlier. The report further added that the two districts have not reported any misuse of the data services.
