The Bihar government on Sunday announced that the tender for the bridge to build in Patna has canceled. State Road Construction Minister Nand Kishore Yadav gave this information. The tender got canceled because two of the 4 contractors involved were from China.
The mega bridge project has started in Patna. Bridge was going to build parallel to the famous Mahatma Gandhi Setu. This decision has taken due to the martyrdom of Indian soldiers in Galvan skirmish and tension with China. Recently, Indian Traders Organization, CAIT released a list of 500 chinese products and appealed to boycott them. Nand Kishore Yadav said – The contractors selected for the construction of the bridge are Chinese partners. They had told them to change their partners, but they did not agree to this. We have canceled their tenders. They have asked for the application again.
The bidders for this project included China’s Harbor Engineering Company and Shanxi Road Bridge Company. Last year the Committee on Economic Affairs.approved the project.
