The Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo reported that an outbreak of Ebola Virus detected in Wangata health zone, MBandaka, in Equateur province. It has been stated that this Ebola virus outbreak is difficult and complex in the Eastern region.
Ministry of Health stated that till now there are six Ebola cases detected Wangata. Among them, four people passed away. Two of them are medical observation. It has been suspected that more people will be diagnosed with this disease as surveillance activities are increasing in that region.
According to Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO director-General, COVID-19 is not just one single health threat for mankind. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, WHO is now monitoring and responding over the other medical emergencies.
In the past two decades, Congo witnessed the severe outbreak of Ebola virus. It is 11th epidemic, which started in 1976. The City of Mbandaka and surrounding area are the most affected location, who has witnessed the 9th Ebola outbreak from May to July 2018.
