In Godzilla Vs. Kong, which opens in theatres and on HBO Max on Wednesday, the 17-year-old Stranger Things actress reprises her role as Madison Russell from 2019’s Godzilla: King of Monsters. The actress admitted in an interview with MTV that she has never seen a Marvel, DC, or Harry Potter film.
Since Godzilla vs. Kong pits these two legendary monsters and franchises against each other, she was asked where she stands on the Marvel vs. DC debate, despite the fact that she hasn’t seen a single film from either franchise. ‘I’ve never seen a Marvel movie, and I’ve never seen a DC movie.’ ‘I know, it’s news,’ the actress started.
‘I’m more into like The Notebook, let’s put on some romance films,’ the actress said. She also speculated that she may not be interested in major spectacle films because she’s already ‘doing that stuff.’ ‘I want to see real-life things.’ “I have so many friends who just look at me and say, ‘How?’ and I’m like, ‘I don’t know,’” she added about never watching Harry Potter.
When she was asked to rank Jurassic Park vs. Harry Potter, she surprised interviewer Josh Horowitz by saying Jurassic Park. ‘I’ve never seen Harry Potter,’ she said, as Horowitz suggested she needs a break to catch up on all of these movies.
‘I know, I know, I know. I have so many friends that just look at me and they’re like, How? I’m like, I don’t know,’ she added.
When asked to choose between Friends and The Office on TV, Brown quickly chose Friends… because she has never seen The Office.
‘I’ve seen every single episode of Friends.’ I grew up watching Friends and enjoying dinner. You know how they eat dinner in front of the TV in Matilda? ‘That was my family and me with Friends,’ she continued.
