A recent Britney Spears documentary from The New York Times reported on how the young reality TV star was harassed by the press as she rose to fame.
Kim Kardashian posted on Instagram about how one tabloid story was so traumatizing for her that she, “couldn’t leave [her] house for months after” as a result. During her first pregnancy, she stated that she was “shamed on a weekly basis” by the tabloids.
Kim Kardashian took to a series of Instagram stories to talk about the complications she had during her first pregnancy. Kardashian was suffering from preeclampsia, a pregnancy complication that made her gain 60 pounds and deliver almost six weeks early.
“I cried every single day over what was happening to my body mainly from the pressures of being constantly compared to what society considered a healthy pregnant person should like- as well as being compared to Shamu the Whale by the media”, Kardashian said on her Instagram stories. “Looking at all of the photos of myself online and in magazines made me so insecure, and I had this fear of wondering if I would ever get my pre-baby body back. I was shamed on a weekly basis with my cover stories that made my insecurities so painful I couldn’t leave the house for months after. It really broke me.”
