WISK, the walk in kiosk has been set up in the ernakulam district of Kerala for the first time in the country. Kerala thinks today, while the country thinks tomorrow.
This is an inexpensive setup done by the govt. currently six kiosks have been set up tin the state aiming faster collection of samples for the covid 19 situation. This setup was first seen in South Korea, each setup just costs around 40000 rupees. The health-worker professionals can now collect samples without direct contact standing inside a glass cubicle with an attached gloves .
The use of wisk can drastically decrease the use of PPE kits, and can collect up to 40 to 50 samples in an hour. A healthcare staff sitting behind a glass wall collects the throat swab from the person on the other side with the help of thick gloves attached to the glass panel, and drops it inside a container. The place is disinfected every time.
