Reporters of Kashmir has been investigated by the Kashmir polices under the provisions of the stringent anti-terrorism law. Gowhar Geelani was the third journalist in the row who has been faced interrogation by police. He has been accused of glorifying terrorism in his social media posts.
The Editors Guild of India has warned this as the misuse of power by aiming at journalists. They also said that social media posts couldn’t break the laws of anti-terrorism activity. The state has been under restriction since August, as this has been marked as the Muslim-majority region.
The journalists from Kashmir has been launched a social media campaign, to protest against the withdrawal the charges against Mr Geelani, Masrat Zehra and Peerzada Ashiq. They have posted that they will stand together to fight, Journalism couldn’t stop by this accusation.
