Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden may have hit many nerves of US President Donald Trump by picking up us senator Kamala Harris to be his Vice Presidential Candidate. Harris is among the few Indian origin Americans who haven’t forgotten their culture, their country where they belonged to, and have consistently upheld their Indian root.
During the nomination acceptance speech, the democratic party’s presidential Joe Biden had praised Indian American running made Kamala Harris by describing the California senator as a powerful voice in the US and said: “Kamla’s story is the American story”. He added by saying that “she knows about all the obstacles thrown in the way of so many in our country black women, black American, South Asian Americans immigrants. They are left out and left behind. She has overcome every obstacle she has ever faced.”
Joe Biden also highlighted Kamala Harris’s background on how her parents are Jamaican and Indian and her perseverance to overcome every obstacle she had ever faced. Joe Biden had announced by tweeting that “I have the great honor to announce that I have picked Kamala Harris who is a fearless fighter and one of the countries finest public servants -as my running mate.”
Further, he added, “Back when Kamala Harris was Attorney general she worked closely with Beau and I observed as they took on the big banks lifted up and protected women and kids from abuse and I am proud to have her as my partner in the campaign.”
