Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain David Warner said that his team never managed to make it to the Indian Premier League (IPL) play-offs due to the attitude of ‘Never give up’. Sunrisers made it to the play-off with a stunning 10-wicket win in the ‘Do or Die’ match against the top-ranked Mumbai Indians in the points table.
Warner scored 85 not out and Wriddhiman Saha scored 58 not out. Both of them made the match unilateral by adding 151 runs. Warner said after the match, ‘After the defeat against Kings XI Punjab, now looks good. He (Mumbai) rested some of his players but stopping them for 150 on this ground was fantastic. A lot of credit goes to the bowlers. Shahbaz Nadeem bowled brilliantly.
He said, “After this, we wanted to bat effortlessly, and it looked good.” This is Sunrisers’ third consecutive win. He had to win in all three matches to make it to the play-offs.
Warner said, ‘We never take the attitude of giving up and we came up with the same thinking in every match. Some of our players were injured, but their feelings were with us and we wanted to win for them. If we perform like this in the next matches and maintain the same rhythm, then we will be really happy. ‘
