Husain Siddiqui was landed in India after a month-long stay with his young son, who is a dentist in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He moves ahead to Gulbarga in neighbouring Karnataka state, with his family driver. He started feeling sick as soon as reaches home. Family members called up their family doctor; he arrived immediately and prescribes a tablet for cold, as Mr Siddiqui was coughing badly. Additionally, he had a fever in that night also. It was on 7 March 2020.
In 9 march, He was taken to a private hospital in Gulbarga, where he as in 12 hours of observation. After that, he was referred to another super speciality hospital, as he was diagnosed with pneumonia in both lungs and hypertension. Not only have that, in the discharge noted it was not written he has an infection of COVID-19 at all.
But in the statement of the Health Ministry, it has been written that the hospital of Gulbarga has been diagnosed as a suspecting COVID-19 patient. Also, the swap sample has been taken to Bangalore for testing, but instead of waiting for the attendees of the patients has taken him away to a private hospital.
According to the elder son, Hamid Faisal Siddiqui, they were not told about anything like this. They received a discharge note, where it has been clearly stated that the hospital is referring the patient to somewhere else. Also, the senior district officer had told them that the patient can be treated in a local government hospital, where it has a designated COVID-19 ward. But the family members didn’t agree upon that.
On 10 March, Siddiqui was moved out in an ambulance, with the oxygen cylinder and IV. He was with his son, daughter and son-in-law. They were moving from one neurological clinic to another super speciality hospital for treatment but all the patient received paracetamol, nebulised and IV fluids and asked to take him back to the government hospital and return with the report of coronavirus report.
Siddiqui was passed away on his journey to Hyderabad from Bangalore. The officials are blaming over the family members for this and the family members are saying that they have done everything, what the hospitals have been asked to do.
