The Indian Railways to start 40 new trains, with both up and down, services from September 12. The reservations will begin on Sept 10. These new trains will run in addition to 230 trains that are already in operation, Railway Board Chairman V K Yadav said on Saturday.
“Eighty new special trains or 40 pair of trains will start operations from September 12. Reservations will begin on September 10. This will run in addition to the 230 trains already in operation,” he said. He also added that the waiting lists will be modified and will be cloned.
“Wherever there is a demand for a particular train, wherever the waiting list is long, we will run a clone train ahead of the actual train, so that passengers can travel,” the railway board chairman said.
Chairman Yadav also said the Railways will run trains whenever there is demand from states for exams or other similar purposes. Also, immediate action for removing garbage along tracks has been taken jointly by the Delhi government and the Railways in line with the Supreme Court order.
