On the 14th of April PM Modi has extended the lockdown until May 3rd. Modi said, “The country has benefited from social distancing and lockdown and that India is in a much better position than many other nations in COVID-19 fight”. The announcement was made following a meeting with chief ministers last Saturday, during which there was consensus on the same”. The number of coronavirus positives in the country has raised to the peak and no sign to be stopped. But still, the situation is under control of authority.
In the speech, PM Modi stated that “We will monitor the activity of the affected the hotspots via the local health control and will tighten the lockdown if necessary. If we satisfied with the result, then we might remove the lockdown from 20 April(partially). But if the cases started growing radically then we will issue lockdown again to save the life of citizens”.
India also has more than the required bed for coronavirus as per PM. “India has 100,000 beds ready for COVID-19 Patients, while the requirement is only 1500” as per The PM.
Also on further speech, he asked Young Researchers and Scientists to come forward toward creating a vaccine to save the world. On 20th April there might be a decision to stop the lockdown partially as poor workers are going hunger without daily income. “We are making attempts so that farmers, poor people are least affected. If we will have patience, we will defeat the coronavirus.” Pm ended his speech
