With the COVID-19 cases increasing everywhere across the world like a wildfire, it’s more alarming than it was earlier. India has surpassed Russia in the number of cases. The number of cases in Russia is 697,284 while in India, it is 697,284.
Though India was under Lockdown for 3 months, the number of cases kept on rising as the number of tests started to increase. As per reports the total active cases in India now is around 2,53,287 with the number of deaths around 19,700. The number of cases each day is increasing a lot during Unlock-1&2- loosening of the restriction.
However, there is a ray of hope, as per reports the recovery rate in India is 60.9% which is a lot better than the overall global recovery rate i.e. 56.6%. The percentage increase in the rate of recovery is also increasing which gives a lot of hope to face the grave problem. The worst-hit states are- Delhi, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu. With Maharashtra having the most number of cases around 2.06 lakh while Tamil Nadu has 1,11,151. Delhi isn’t behind much and has crossed the 1 lakh mark too.
