‘The Kashmir Fashion Show’ was held on Tuesday at the Sheri Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar in an effort to give young people a forum. “Our brothers and sisters are capable and talented enough to work in the fashion industry. This show is a small step toward providing them with a platform to highlight their abilities “Momin Mir, the event’s organiser, said.
“Fashion isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It’s all about the clothes and how they’re presented “Ousheeba, a contemporary style designer, said as much. “There is a stereotype that modelling is not for women and that it is not for them. This programme has been organised to crack the typecast “Sara identified herself as a performer, adding that she is pleased that people were given the opportunity to demonstrate their creativity and desire to follow their dreams.
To find talent among the youth, auditions for the fashion show were held in districts across the Kashmir Valley. There were a total of 22 applicants who were chosen to perform. Local fashion designers designed the costumes. Mir is looking forward to organizing the second edition of the Kashmir fashion show after receiving a positive response.
