The ‘Heart Attack’ singer said in the film about the night in July 2018 when she said she nearly died, “I didn’t just take too much. I was cheated out of my money.” Sirah Mitchell, a friend of Lovato’s, said Lovato had been given heroin “laced with fentanyl” that night.
In the documentary, Mitchell says of the dealer, “He also ended up making her extremely high and leaving her for dead.”
“I was nude and blue when they noticed me. After he took advantage of me, he practically left me for dead. They asked if we had had consensual sex when I awoke in the hospital. I had a brief vision of him standing on top of me. When I saw the flash, I said yes. ‘You weren’t in any state of mind to make a consensual decision,’ I didn’t know until a month after the overdose “Lovato said.
“I was in a similar situation when I was a teenager. I was raped and lost my virginity “she says in the movie Although she admitted that she and her suspected rapist were “hooking up” at the time, Lovato claimed that she wasn’t “able” to give up her virginity.
“I was part of the Disney crowd who publicly said they were waiting before marriage,” Lovato said. I didn’t have a romantic experience the first time. That was not it for me; it was a disaster. Then I had to live with the fact that I had to see this guy all of the time, so I stopped eating and found other ways to cope.” The singer then said, “I’m going to say it,” and revealed what had occurred. Her accused assailant, on the other hand, “never got into trouble.”
“Both times were textbook trauma re-enactments, and I really beat myself up for years,” she said elsewhere. “That’s why I had a really hard time coming to grips with the fact that it was a rape when it happened.”
