A trunk shaped device has been developed by the Indian Institute of technology, this device can be used to sanitise grocery items,currency notes. The device is fitted with ultraviolet germicidal irradiation technology . The device sanitises the things bought from outside like frocery items and currency notes. The items are to be put inside the device which is recommended to be placed at the doorstep of the house.
The trunk can be available at less than Rs500 and the device will only take 30 minutes for the sanitisation process, the team at IIT Ropar told. Also, a 10 minute cooling period is needed for the device.
As of now people are washing veggies in hot water but the currency notes brought from outside cannot be sanitised, so the team from IIT developed a commob solution for the same

The Senior scientific Officer at IIT Ropar, Naresh Rakha told the media that the device uses the technology available in water purifiers and the team had given the device a shape of trunk.
Earlier, a startup team from IIT hyd also developed an apl based ventilator
