The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has recommended that no States should use the rapid testing kit of COVID-19. At least they should avoid using them for the next two days since the results are showing variations.
Once the ICMR squad validates these testing kits, the states will be allowed to continue testing. However, if the kits aren’t up to the mark then they will consider a replacement. In several States, these kits were distributed to confirm coronavirus cases. But now they are asked to refrain from using this due to quality issues.
The first one to put a hold on these testing kit is Ashok Gehlot, CM of Rajasthan. After discussing with Journalists from Jaipur he requested the PM Narendra Modi that the kits from China need to be examined before further testing. Since as per Rajasthan Medical and Health Minister, even the confirmed COVID-19 cases tested negative. Therefore, the accuracy of testing through these kits is merely 5.4%.
