The Indian council of Medical Sciences sets up a task force for the covid 19 research. The force will be working on the drug development of the corona virus.On Tuesday, the ICMR said that the force had been divided into five groups. The % groups are research on diagnostics and biomarkers, operation research, drug research, clinical research and vaccine development.
Each groups are going to be led by proffessionals. AIIMS director Dr Randeep Guleria will lead the group of clinical research and will soon establish a India COVID 19 clinical research network. The former director of National Institute of Virology, Dr DA Gadkari will lead diagnosis and biomarkers group. Dr DCS Reddy, community medicine expert will be looking after the Epidemiology & surveilance group. The operation research group will be monitored by NK Arora, the head of health research organisation and the Executive director Translational Health Science and Technology Institute will be working with the group on vaccines.
ICMR has also decided Terms of Reference for all the groups.
