A14-year-old girl was found hanging from a fan in Arsh Kanya Gurukul School located in Sector 115, Noida on the early morning of July 3. The girl’s parents stay in Haryana and her 13-year-old sister also studies in the same boarding school for girls. According to reports, around 45 students, including the victim’s younger sister, were present in the school at the time, along with teachers and staff members.
The school staff informed the Principal and the girl’s parents about the incident over the phone. The victim’s parents reached the school at 10.30 am on the same day. The mother has alleged that their phone was taken from them when they reached the school. They were taken to a room where the girl was hanging from a fan. The family members were shown an alleged suicide note of the girl as well. “We were threatened by the school authorities and forced to cremate our daughter immediately. The police will have to investigate to find out the circumstances in which our daughter died,” said the victim’s family.
The school authorities failed to inform the police about the incident and have accepted that it was a mistake on their part. “We found a suicide note where the girl had written that there is no reason behind her death. Neither the Gurukul nor her family members are responsible for her death. She further wrote that ‘There is no reason for me to live, I have become a burden on everyone'”, said Jayendra Kumar, Principal, Gurukul School, Noida.
