Corona is comparable to a war, a global war in which we must prevail. We won’t be able to win if we fight it physically; we’ll have to fight it mentally and emotionally; we’ll be able to win if we work together. This virus is putting our values, our very core, to the test, and we must overcome it. As a human race, we must strive to be greater, which means being more conscious of the environment and caring for one another. Here are some of the ways for staying sane during these difficult times.
It’s easy to forget how fortunate we are to have the things we do when there’s so much fear, tension, and misery around us. Rather than being concerned and stressed about your health, approach it from a place of gratitude, appreciating that you are healthy at this time. Make sure you balance your mind with the upsides, especially when everything in the media is forcing us to look at the negative aspects of life: the economy, infrastructure, culture, and this disease. Create a balanced mind so you can appreciate your family, the air you breathe, and the oxygen you have when so many others don’t.
Use Visualisation Techniques
Draw a picture of why you will survive this scenario, why you were born to survive it. Make a reason for yourself to live. Make a mental image of yourself in the future, happy, with your family and children, and living in a world free of COVID. Make a mental image of what life will be like after COVID and hold on to it every day. Believe in it even if you can’t see it. Create it in your mind and allow it to inspire and motivate you. Hold your wrist, close your eyes, and take a deep breath. Now think of a time in the past when you were happy, and live in that moment. As the image brightens, say “peace, peace, peace.”
Remind yourself that you are greater than anything around you
COVID is powerful, but the human spirit is much more so. Floods, wars, and the plague have all been experienced by the human spirit, and it has always survived. The champion is the human spirit, and that spirit resides within you. If you want to, you can be greater than everything around you. Connect with your soul, your spirit.
Remind yourself of the difficult times you’ve overcome in your life and draw strength from that memory. Find times when your resilient, courageous, and powerful self showed up and helped you get through something you never thought you could: a breakup, the death of a loved one, a business setback, or an earthquake.
