Mr Dorsey was holding a placard that said, ” Smash Brahminical Patriarchy.” Rajkumar Sharma had registered an FIR against him claiming that the banner used by Dorsey was demonizing their Brahminical culture.
Although the High Court stayed the arrest of Twitter CEO, he was denied the invalidation of the case. The FIR was registered under Indian Penal Code sections which claimed that this was outrageous towards a particular community and it was defaming their culture.
After this incident took place, Dorsey’s Counsel submitted to the Court that his client had no such intention of hurting someones religious beliefs. It also said that this poster was given by an unknown woman to Mr Dorsey in a social event. Therefore, this FIR was quashed by Rajasthan High Court.
