Hero MotoCorp is coming forward to combat the coronavirus pandemic with a pledge of 100 crore rupees. 50 crore will be donated to the PM CARES Fund and the rest of it will be contributed for distributing medical supplies, daily foods and other essentials.
The chairman Mr Pawan Munjal said that, in this critical situation, it is very much important and urgent that we need to come together, assist each other to fulfil the needs of society, along with those who are in the frontline to combat the COVID-19 emergency.
Along with them, engineering and construction business giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Monday also announced that they are going to contribute 150 crore rupees to the PM CARES Fund. They are also keeping aside over 500 crores per month to take care of their 1.60 lakh contract workers.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the Indian citizens to donate money, to give encouragement and strength to the frontline soldiers. Celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Rajnikant, Ratan Tata, PV Sindhu has been donated already.
