Mumbai Indians (MI) all-rounder Hardik Pandya has become the first player to support ‘Black Lives Matter’ or BLM (Black lives matter) in the current Indian Premier League (IPL).
Pandya did this during the match against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday. This all-rounder scored an unbeaten 60 off 21 balls. He completed his half-century in the 19th over and sat on one knee and raised his right hand to show his support for the ongoing campaign against racism. West Indies all-rounder and Mumbai acting captain Kieron Pollard supported him by clenching his right hand.
Pandya also tweeted her photo after the match and gave the caption ‘Black Lives Matter’.West Indies Test captain Jason Holder, playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad, expressed disappointment last week over the lack of support from any IPL team for the campaign.
