Low to moderate intense tremors are shaking the Delhi-NCR for the tenth time within the period of one and half month. It has been assumed that a major and effective earthquake is going to strike in Delhi-NCR very soon.
Geologist stated that the time of place or scale couldn’t be predicted. But there is a consistent seismic activity going around the NCR for a long time. The Chief of Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, Dr Kalachand Sain said that Delhi and its border towns fall on high-risk seismic zones.

Many high rise building has been developed in those areas and the builders are bluntly violating BIS norms. As the locations are in seismic zone-4, it is prone to tremors. Still, the builders didn’t conform to the norms of BIS. The architects and builders have compromised the earthquake-resistant code. So, if someday terrible things happened, the consequences will be grievous.
