The director of horror movie Frankenstein’s Army, Richard Raaphorst, has accused Capcom of plagiarizing his monster designs from the movie in Resident Evil Village. As reported by GamerPress, Raaphorst took it to LinkedIn, where he showed images how similar the Sturm boss design is to a creature from his movie. Not only that, but Twitch streamer CloneKorp also pointed on Twitter the resemblance several Resident Evil Village creatures have with those in Frankenstein’s Army.https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js
Raaphorst on LinkedIn mentioned, “In 2013 I directed my film Frankenstein’s Army.” He further wrote that, “It’s a crazy monster movie filled with my own creature designs, one of which has been used – completely without authorization or credit in the newest Resident Evil game #monsterdesign #residentevil #r_games #residentevilproject #gamedesign #gameart #plagiarism #copyright #gemart #characterdsign #conceptart #movieart #frankensteinsarmy #zombot #propellerhead #copyright.”
Raaphorst responded to CloneKorp’s thread saying, “Oh dude, this is worse than I thought. First I felt angry, then proud, but now I see this, I feel sad.”
As of now, Capcom has not released any statement regarding this allegations.
