In an encounter with security forces in Kiloora village of Jammu and Kashmir Shopian district, on Friday, four terrorists were killed. According to the officials, the encounter started after they received specific information about the terrorists who are present in the village in Shopian. The operation was jointly launched by the army, police and the paramilitary CRPF.
The police said that “This is one of the rarest gunfights in the Union Territory in which a terrorist surrendered”. The police further added that “the two of the Dead terrorist were involved in the kidnapping and killing of a Panchayat member affiliated to the BJP.”
After the body of Nisar Ahmed Bhat who is the Panchayat member was found in an apple orchard, hours after the body found, the encounter. Vijay Kumar who is the IGP of Kashmir said that “we have killed the terrorist involved in the killing of a Panchayat member and counter took place soon after his body was found today”.
The senior Police officers said that “in the ensuing gunfight for terrorists were killed”. One terrorist surrendered, we have taken him into custody and he will be dealt with as per law the officer added.
