As the lock down is easing down, the number of corona virus cases in India are surging up. For the first time 9,300 cases were reported in a single day and the number of deaths reported in 24 hours were 260. The total number of cases have now reached 2,16,919 and the deaths increased to 6,075 on Thursday. Most of the sates have started public transports and from 8th June major public places such as temples, mosques will too be opened. Some opposition party leaders and common people are even questioning the success and the timings of the lock down. But the government is firm in its decision of bringing the economy back on track which is essential as well and that’s the reason everyone needs to understand his or her responsibility and go outside their homes only and only if it is necessary.
But the people are not understanding the gravity of the situation and this is leading to the increase in the corona virus cases. Meanwhile, Defence secretary Ajay Kumar has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been put under home quarantine who unfortunately becomes the first top government official to test positive. With the front line warriors like doctors and policemen already being targeted by the virus, it is now spreading to the government officials as well. As India and other nations fight the pandemic, the World Health Organization announced on Wednesday that clinical trials of the drug hydroxychloroquine will resume as it searches for potential corona virus treatments.
