With the trailer launch of his upcoming film Vakeel Saab on Monday, Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan announced his return to cinema after three years. The film is a remake of the 2016 Hindi film Pink, which starred Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, and Andrea Tariang in lead roles, with Angad Bedi, Piyush Mishra, Tushar Pandey, and Dhritiman Chatterjee playing antagonists.
The two-minute trailer, which was released on Monday, features Pawan Kalyan in a highly dramatic courtroom drama. The trailer opens with actor Prakash Raj, who plays the prosecutor, asking the three girls who were raped by a group of young men some very humiliating questions. Pawan Kalyan appears in a few action-packed scenes as well.
Sriram Venu directed the film, and Thaman S composed the music score. The trailer has received over 12 million views since its release. As the trailer was released, fans of the Jana Sena chief were seen causing a ruckus at a cinema in Visakhapatnam. The incident happened in the Sangam theatre, and the theatre’s glass was shattered in the ensuing chaos.
Meanwhile, movie critics and fans alike took to social media to share their initial reactions to the trailer. A user praised the trailer, saying it strikes a strong balance between the content and Pawan Kalyan’s charisma. He went on to say that the film would be an intriguing courtroom drama starring Prakash Raj and Pawan Kalyan.
